LOW FPS
Table of Contents
While OKAMIcraft is a “vanilla” Minecraft server, meaning we don’t modify the way Minecraft runs on your system, your hadware limitations or Internet connection could contribute to low FPS. Minecraft is not a well optimized game, so it can become demanding quickly, especially if you have set a large render and/or entity distance.

To address this issue, try the following steps:
Use OptiFine or Sodium
OptiFine and Sodium are mods that optimize Minecraft’s performance, often resulting in substantial FPS gains. OptiFine offers a user-friendly interface, while Sodium provides more advanced costimization options. For Sodium, we recomend using Fabric as a mod loader.
Reduce Render/Entity Distance
The render distance determines how far away objects and entities are loaded. Lowering the render distance can significantly improve FPS.
Use a LAN Cable
A LAN cable provides a more stable and reliable connection compared to WiFi.
Disable V-Sync
V-Sync synchronizes your FPS with your monitor’s refresh rate, which can help prevent screen tearing but it might limit your FPS. Check your FPS after disabling V-Sync by pressing F3 on your keyboard to see if this step improved performance.
Consider an Older Version of Minecraft
Whilst OKAMIcraft supports versions 1.8.X to 1.X.X, using an older version like 1.18.X can further reduce performance demands. However, note that you won’t be able to see blocks below y=0 in versions older than 1.18.X.
